On Buying Vintage:
If you're buying / collecting vintage I'm hoping you already know this, but vintage has already had a previous life. It is not 100% perfect and can have some light scent to it. I work tirelessly to search out and curate only the best and I'm obsessive about measuring and scrutinizing condition. That said there is a chance I miss small issues here and there (I'm only human), but I'm dedicated to documenting my vintage accurately because I'm a collector myself and I wouldn't expect anything less when purchasing for my own collection. For the love of vintage! (amiright?) This being the case, please be aware that there may be minor imperfections that can slip through my scrutiny. Furthermore, vintage clothing was produced in previous eras with different standards and may not meet all guidelines for modern clothing manufacture. This is beyond my reach and responsibility. At this time I do not launder pieces that are sold in my shop - unless otherwise noted - they are sold in as-found condition, but I do only pass along pieces that are visibly clean and will only require normal washing/cleaning care, unless otherwise noted. To understand better how to care for and launder your vintage, please visit my Laundry Guide.
By purchasing any of my listings you agree with and acknowledge all information on this page to be true and acceptable.
Notes on Fit & Fabric
I list all measurements for my garments by laying them flat and doubling the measurement. To determine if a piece will fit you well I recommend going into your closet and measuring a perfectly fitting garment and comparing with the measurements I've listed. I do this to ensure you know the actual dimensions of the garment and can determine how you'd like it to fit from there. As far as fabric descriptions go, I have been collecting and selling vintage for years but I'm no expert in all fabrics. I will describe fabrics to the nearest fabric I'm very familiar with in an effort to describe the look and feel of the piece. There may be variations in fabric accuracy.
Layaway & Reserves
Layaway is available. Please message me with the information of the piece you’re interested in.
Terms:
$100-$200: 40% deposit, full payment in 14 days
$200-$500: 40% deposit, full payment in 20 days
$500 + : 40% deposit, full payment in 28 days
Deposit must be paid upon agreement of terms and my sending you the down payment invoice. Only one layaway at a time is permitted. My layaway terms are strict. Non payment on agreed upon schedule releases items from layaway/reserve with absolutely no refunds for any payments placed on the item. One day past due is still past due. Defaults on layaways will result in disqualification for future layaways. These terms are shaped by too many buyers defaulting on payments. I appreciate you respecting the work I put into running my business by completing layaways within the time agreed to. If you require a longer layaway PayPal has a 6 month line of credit option if payments through personal credit cards aren’t your thing.
Reserves/Holds are allowed for 48 hours & a non-refundable deposit is required at 40% of the purchase price. Deposit must be paid upon agreement of terms and my sending you the down payment invoice. Non payment on agreed upon schedule releases items from hold/reserve with absolutely no refunds.
ALL DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE & NON-TRANSFERABLE
Shipping
You may notice when your vintage arrives that the packaging is recycled - that’s intentional. I only use environmentally friendly mailer bags or recycled boxes - all properly employed to ensure your purchase arrives into your hands safely. Vintage fashion is, in essence, recycling, and I make every effort to reuse what is already available without creating more waste as environmental responsibility is a sincere aspect in all this. Also, if you’ve received a package with one of my hand stamped business cards and a note about the seeds it contains, learn how to grow them here.
As for shipping times - I make every effort to ship out your vintage same day if possible, next business day at the latest, unless otherwise noted.* Due to the circumstances of 2020, I currently ship once a week - on Fridays - to limit contact with postal employees and generally keep socially distanced for everyone’s safety. If you need something rush shipped please message me before purchasing.
I charge a flat rate for three tiers of US domestic shipping - $5 under 4oz / media mail, $8 for under 1lb, $12 for 1-2 lbs. Much larger and bulkier/heavier items are subject to a higher rate. For Canada I charge a flat rate of $16 for under 1lb. and $27 for 1-2 lbs. Much larger and bulkier/heavier items are subject to a higher rate. For all other international I charge a flat rate of $14 for under 4oz, $24 for under 1lb. and $36 for 1-2 lbs. Much larger and bulkier/heavier items are subject to a higher rate. Canadian & other International buyers are responsible for all VAT & import fees imposed by your country. All custom forms will be filled out with the details of the purchase as reflected by the sale listing - absolutely no modification possible.
Shipping costs go up regularly, yearly (unfortunately) and in order for me to continue to do this for a living I cannot offer free shipping (though I am happy to combine shipping). I’m a small business, not Amazon, and don’t have the collective bargaining or built in shipping carriers like huge corporations do. My shipping prices are firm.
Damage during shipping: I package all my items thoughtfully and carefully with appropriate fragile/do not bend/do not crush labels as necessary. I work too hard to see these pieces of history destroyed at the hands of the postal service after surviving decades. That said, I also do not insure items unless upon request or unless I wouldn’t ship it uninsured as it’s too rare, fragile, and/or precious. If this is the case shipping will reflect that necessary insurance and will be noted. If an item becomes damaged in the mail the responsibility is on the buyer to take the necessary steps to work with the postal service to appeal for damages. Once I carefully package and ship these items, unless by an egregious misstep on my part, they become the responsibility of the buyer.
Lost items during shipping: I’ve yet to have a single item lost in the mail (knock on wood), as each package is affixed with a tracking number. If an item becomes delayed in the mail please contact the postal carrier with all tracking information for your item. I have no sway with the US Postal Service, nor international carriers, and can do no more than you can as the recipient in getting information. I will provide any additional information that is necessary if this issue should arise, simply message me, but I am not responsible for packages once they are taken into the care of the postal system. I cannot offer refunds for delayed or lost items. This is an issue needing resolve with the postal carrier.
Returns & Exchanges
I take great care in accurately photographing, measuring, & describing the pieces listed here. Photos are considered part of the description of an item so please look closely. I only offer refunds in extreme and rare circumstances that are completely up to my sole discretion. Contact me within 48 hours of delivery. (All purchases must be returned in condition in which they arrived for full refunds to be considered. Return postage is buyers responsibility.) I do not offer exchanges. Issues with fit, buyers remorse, or minor defects (as this is vintage and used, therefore not perfect) are not grounds for a refund. Purchases made on layaway, sale, or discounted in any way are not eligible for return at all.
